For the fourth year Europe’s largest free urban paint festival Upfest will take place at the Tobacco Factory and other Bristol venues on 4 and 5 June 2011.

Upfest , the Urban Paint Festival, is now firmly established as the main event for graffiti in Europe, attracting urban artists from all over the world to the Tobacco Factory on Raleigh Road, Southville; the festival’s birthplace; and to a number of other locations around the city which include View Art Gallery, Vector Seating Car Park, Spotted Cow, Hen and Chicken and Upfest Gallery.

Over two hundred and fifty artists from Bristol, the UK and around the world will attend the event; including Bristol artists Acerone, Bandito, Cheo, Deam, Jody, Jokes, Lokey and Sepr. From elsewhere in the UK Blam, Don Foundry, Ian Phenna, Inkie, Julian Kimmings, NT4T, Pahnl, Philth, Snub23, Spqr, TND Crew, T.wat and Estum are all confirmed attendees. International artists already confirmed include Shione from Bulgaria, Birobent from Canada, Sores-slow from Denmark, Huffer from Finland, Deuz from France, Inva from Greece, Stencilnoire from Italy, Said Donkins from Mexico, Fake from the Netherlands, Martin Whatson from Norway, Detox Crew from Poland, Asier from Spain and Joab and Zachb from USA.

Upfest is a free event that helps to raise funds for the Bristol based charity NACOA, who work to help children growing up in families where one or both parents suffer from alcoholism. NACOA is the only UK charity addressing the problems experienced by these children, its patrons include Elle MacPherson, Geraldine James OBE and Feargal Keane OBE. Upfest is a completely volunteer led festival and has so far raised in excess of £15,000 for NACOA.

A Bristol, ville d’origine du trip-hop, et des groupes comme Portishead et Massive Attack, ce déroulait comme chaque année l’un des plus gros rassemblement de Street Artistes d’Europe. c’est  pas loin de 200 Street Painters, qui se sont retrouver sur plusieurs site pour peindre devant un public de plus en plus conquis par cette pratique.

Je m’y suis rendu pendant 5 jours ou j’ai pu découvrir une ville très riche en culture, et très intéressante.(ville portuaire, très populaires pour son agitation, ces références musicales notamment en drum n bass ou comme citer plus haut ). J’ai pu peindre après quelques temps de repérage en solitaire dans la ville. Merci a Raoul du staff de Upffest pour le shop-store. Merci a Rachelle et ses amis pour l’hébergement, l’accueil et la visite plus underground de la ville). Et surtout big merci a mon copilote de voyage mike, thanks man for the good trip.  See you later Bristol!
